IT WAS ALL A DREAM
THE TALE OF A MAN
WITH A PLAN
Ash (food lover and devotee cook, also former Street Food Manager for Jamie Oliver's "Barbecoa") is ‘The Cheeky Indian’: Following five years at Art College and a ten year stint running his family Hardware Store in North West London, Ash thought enough was enough...
It was time to down tools and follow his long term passion and dream of not just cooking but spreading the culinary knowledge he picked up from his Mother and Grandmother. In 2011 he spent a day one day a week at Jamie Olivers Barbecoa Restaurant gaining first hand professional experience under the supervision top chefs Sebastian Le Rocca and John Relihan.
In 2012 he was offered a position to run and manage a street food concept for the restaurant. After one full year he took the plunge and realised his dream and set up The Cheeky Indian. The idea was to take traditional Indian cooking techniques and equipment and 'abuse' them to create a unique style of what he refers to as "Indianish" street food.
